Plans are well under way for 2019 Alumni Weekend at HMCS Quadra and in broad terms here is the agenda:
Dates: August 9th and 10th, 2019
Location: HMCS Quadra and the Crown Isle Golf Resort, Courtenay, BC
Meet & Greet: Friday, August 9th from 1800 to 2359 hrs in the Silver Room of the Crown Isle Clubhouse. There will be a no host bar available. Those arriving on Friday and wishing a meal there will be a limited menu available in the Silver Room or are welcome to use the Timber Room in the Crown Isle clubhouse.
Ceremony of the Flags: Saturday, August 10th, at HMCS Quadra, 1000
Lunch: BBQ Lunch 1130-1230 at 19 Wing Yacht Club near the Parade Square. Cash Only, $15.00.
Annual General Meeting: Saturday, August 10th, 1300 in the Sea Survival classroom.
Ship Tours: 1400-1500 from the Parade Square
Cutter 7 Christening: 1600 at the Boat Ramp
Annual Dinner: Saturday, August 10th, Silver Room, Crown Isle Clubhouse, no host bar opens at 1800 hrs with dinner at 1900 hrs, the bar will be available until 2359 hrs. A vegetarian option will be available upon request.
Registration: Registration is now CLOSED to all current members of the Alumni Association of HMCS Quadra. New and lapsed members are also encouraged to join the Alumni Association and register. Please register through the Association’s website http://www.quadraalumni.com/.
Annual Dinner Cost: The cost of the dinner has been held at $55 per person again this year. It is important to note that the Silver Room will only seat 70 persons so please register and pay early to avoid disappointment. Your dinner reservation and payment may be made as follows:
- By using the "Pay Online" link on the Registration Form (Preferred Method)

- By Cheque to Alumni Association of HMCS Quadra and mailed to Sandy Dudley, 2415 Nanoose Road, Nanoose Bay, BC, V9P 9E6
Accommodations: We have reserved a number of the Hotel Villas at Crown Isle at an excellent group rate. The rooms will be held only until July 1st after which they will be released to the public, this is prime season and will sell out quickly so book early. Our group rates are as follows and are net of taxes:
- Double Standard Fairway Rooms: $129.00 per night
- One Bedroom Suites: $189.00 per night
Those members holding government or military ID will receive a further discount, reservations are to be made directly with Crown Isle at 250-703-5050 A description and pictures of the Hotel Villas can be seen at https://www.crownisle.com/accommodations/ Those wishing to play golf or use the Health Centre can make arrangements when making their reservation. Crown Isle offers free transportation to and from the Comox Airport, arrangements should be made with the front desk at the time of making your room reservation.
