Plans are close to complete for the 2024 Quadra Alumni Association Alumni Weekend at Comox and HMCS Quadra and Registration is now OPEN.
in broad terms, here is the agenda and general information:
Dates: 9-10 August 2024
Location: Royal Canadian Legion Branch 160 (1825 Comox Ave, Comox, BC)
Meet & Greet: Friday, 9 August 2024, 1800 to 0100 (6:00 PM to 1:00 AM) hrs at Comox Legion in the Upper Floor Hall. There will be a no-host bar and delicious snacks. There will be 50/50 tickets, raffle tickets and door prizes tickets available.
The cost is $25.00 to unpaid members payable at the door. - cash or Square available (if you are planning on attending this event only)
Annual Business Meeting: Saturday, 10 August 2024, 1100 - 1230 (11:00 AM - 12:30 PM), again at Comox Legion, Upper Floor Hall.
Lunch will be served on completion of the ABM for those members in good standing who attend the meeting.
The cost is $10.00 to unpaid members.
Access to HMCS Quadra: We antcipate that Alumni guests will be allowed onboard HMCS QUADRA in limited numbers, in organized groups, details will be promulgated when complete.
Ceremony of the Flags: There will be NO Ceremony of the Flags in HMCS QUADRA.
Ship Tours: We are working on organizing tours of HMCS Quadra, details will be promulgated when complete.
Reunion Dinner / Dance: Saturday, August 10th, again at Comox Legion, Upper Floor Hall, 1730 for 1830 (5:30 PM for 6:30 PM). Cash bar opens at 1730 (5:30 PM) with dinner at 1830 (6:30 PM).
We will be serving a scrumptious buffet of BBQ Steak or Chicken, baked potatoes (with all the fixings) salads, etc. and some incredible desserts.
There will be 50/50 tickets, raffle tickets and door prizes tickets available.
The cost is $55.00 payable in advance.
Registration Fee: If you are a paid-up member and:
- wish to just attend the Meet & Greet - your cost will be $20.00
- wish to just attend the ABM - your lunch is included
- wish to attend all 3 events or even just 2 of them (Meet & Greet and Dinner) - your cost is $75.00

It is important to note that the venue will only seat so many persons so please register and pay early to avoid disappointment. Your dinner reservation and payment may be made as follows:

Registration: Registration is now OPEN to all alumni of HMCS Quadra, regardless of membership status in the Association.
Registration will be open until 31 July 2024.
Accommodations: Block bookings of accommodations available to the Alumni Association are very limited.
Currently, the only block bookings available are at Crowne Isle Resort & Golf Community (399 Clubhouse Dr, Courtenay, BC), Phone: (250) 703-5000. The available block bookings for 9 & 10 August 2024 are as follows:
- King Suite Jacuzzi - 5 rooms at $299.00/night (+ 5% GST & 8% PST & 2% Hotel Tax)
- Fairway Queen Room - 5 rooms at $259.00/night (+ 5% GST & 8% PST & 2% Hotel Tax)
The “cut-off date” for reserving rooms in the Room Block is one month prior to group arrival. After the cut-off date, it is at Resort discretion whether to accept additional reservations, which will be subject to prevailing rates and availability.
The cut-off date for all reservations is July 10, 2024.
Cancellations must be made 30 days in advance of the initial date of your event. Cancellations made less then 30 days in advance are subject to a fee equal to 100% of the amount due under this agreement, less any deposits already received.

Check-in time is 5:00 PM. Rooms cannot be guaranteed for early arrivals; however, all efforts will be made to accommodate those guests who would like to arrive early.

Check-out time is 11:00 AM. Any late check-outs may be subject to late charges.

All accommodations at Crown Isle are non-smoking, and they are a cannibis-free resort. To protect a smoke free environment, a minimum charge of $250 cleaning fee will be posted to the account of any guest(s) who smoke in their guest room.

A limited number of dog friendly guest rooms are available on property; charges for pet cleaning apply. Dogs must be less than 50 pounds.
